Fatty Liver Foods To Avoid
Fatty Liver Foods To Avoid
What is a fatty liver called? It is a condition in which fat is wrapped around the liver. If you have only a little bit of fat in the liver, you may just let it go. But too much fat can cause complications.
About 20% of people have fatty liver. This is probably due to the amount of fast foods and unhealthy foods around. Filipinos love lechon, crispy butter, pork chop, lard, cake and fried food. When you have a fatty liver, your chances of developing diabetes and heart disease may increase.
There are two types of fatty liver: Alcoholic fatty liver and non-alcoholic fatty liver. The first (alcoholic type) is due to alcohol consumption. Alcohol should be discarded. And the second (non-alcoholic type) is caused by fatty foods.
If you have fatty liver, your blood cholesterol, blood sugar and uric acid are usually high too. You will probably be overweight and have a big stomach. The abdominal size should be only 36 inches in men and only 31 inches in women.
There are several instances where fatty liver can develop and inflammation of the liver and liver cirrhosis. Let us not come to this condition before we can change our lives. It is still early to take care of it.
How to find out if you have fatty liver?
We can tell that the patient has fatty liver by ultrasound of the whole abdomen. The result states that you have fatty liver. In the blood test, it is also evaluated whether your SGPT and SGOT (liver enzymes) levels are rising.
At first the fatty liver had no symptoms. Someone else is hurting the right side of the stomach. But when it comes to liver cirrhosis it is severe and there will be jaundice, swelling, stomach swelling and foot cramps.
What about the cure?
No simple pill or surgery can eliminate liver fat. The cure for fatty liver is the gradual change in our lifestyle.
First, stop vices like alcohol and cigarettes. Second, avoid fatty and sugary foods. Replace it with a diet of healthy vegetables, fruits and fish.
If you have conditions such as diabetes, high cholesterol or high uric acid, it should be treated to prevent your fatty liver from worsening. If you are overweight and have an upset stomach, we need to lose weight.
Do not ignore the fatty liverTreat it early so it doesn't get worse. Good luck.
Stroke in the Young

Stroke in the Young

There is what is called a "stroke in the young" where young people 40 and below can get stroke.
In the Philippines, stroke is the second most common of the 10 major diseases. About 110 Filipinos die every day from stroke.
Let's find out the possible causes:
1. Unhealthy lifestyle - Because many adolescents have vices such as unhealthy food, cigarettes and alcohol, they are stricken earlier. Even at the age of 20 can suffer from high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease. This causes stroke.
2. Rheumatic heart disease - Rheumatic heart disease is a disease in which the heart valves are damaged. The most common cause of this is simple tonsillitis, or infection of the tonsils. Bacteria from the tonsils can move to the heart valve and destroy it. To treat tonsillitis, doctors give antibiotics such as Amoxycillin capsules for 7-10 days.
3. Congenital heart disease - Children with congenital heart defects (ASD, VSD and Patent Foramen Ovale) are also at risk for stroke. Blood vessels pass through the heart and cause stroke.
4. Illegal drugs like shabu and cocaine - Do not use drugs. Shabu is a leading cause of stroke in youth. The shabu increases blood pressure and heart rate. The heart and brain (spasm) are also narrowed.
5. Excessive Exercise - When you exercise hard, you will definitely increase your pressure and speed up your heart rate. Sometimes the "pressure" of the nerves in the brain is out of control and it blows.
6. Pregnancy and high blood pressure - Some pregnancies increase as the baby grows into the womb.
7. Blood problems - There are diseases that thicken the patient's blood, causing stroke. Examples are protein S and protein C deficiency, and polycythemia vera.
8. Excessive Hot Place - When it's hot, many people are stroked. Avoid the sun from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
There are other causes of stroke in adolescents such as (1) abnormal atrial fibrillation, (2) abnormal brainstem (cerebral aneurysm), (3) severe migraine, and (4) oral contraceptive pills.
To be safe, check with your doctor regularly.
Heart Attack First Aid

Heart Attack First Aid

How do you know if someone has a heart attack? A sign of a heart attack is Levine's sign where the fist is placed on the stomach. Also find out if you have previously had heart disease, hypertension or diabetes. Here's what we can do as a first aid in heart attack:

1. First of all, call a doctor and get the car ready to take him to the hospital.

2. While waiting, give the patient enough air. Use a fan, electric fan or air con. What happens in a heart attack is that the patient's oxygen supply is low.

3. Sit the patient in a comfortable chair or bed. He needs to sit up to about 45 degrees. Put a small pillow under your feet to make her feel more comfortable.

4. Take off his clothes and necktie so that the nerves do not stick to his neck.

5. Our goal is to relax the patient. How to do it? Don't ask him a question. Just tell yourself to rest. “We fix the tasks and problems.” You can close your eyes and just relax.

6. Tell the patient to take a deep and slow breath, called deep and slow breathing. It relaxes and lowers blood pressure.

7. If he has a maintenance heart medication, take it.

8. For a heart attack, you need to give first aid medicine, Aspirin 325 mg tablet or maybe Baby Aspirin or 80 mg Aspilet but take two tablets.

9. If you know how to take blood pressure, monitor his blood pressure. We are watching for the sudden drop in blood pressure.

10. And of course, take the patient quickly to the Emergency Room of a large hospital. Because only doctors can tell if they are heart attack or not.

For relatives, be proactive and use common sense. Learn first aid for survival.
Foods For The Heart
Foods For The Heart

According to the American Heart Association, to protect the heart, eat red foods. What are they?

1. Red grapes - Red grapes contain flavonoids, quercetin, and resveratrol (on the skin of red grapes). According to the study, grapes raise our good cholesterol. It also prevents the formation of whole platelets in the blood so that the veins do not block. According to experts, red or black grapes are healthier than white or green grapes. Red grapes have also been found to be resistant to viruses and bacteria. Don't just eat too much because it's too fat.

2. Red apples - Red apples are high in quercetins. According to the study, people who eat "one apple a day" are more likely to avoid lung cancer and Alzheimer's disease. Apple skin has pectin, which also lowers bad cholesterol (LDL cholesterol) by 16% so it's good for our heart.

3. Red wine - Red wine is made from grapes and contains resveratrol. Resveratrol has been proven in the laboratory to prolong the life of mice and also to prevent cancer. Resveratrol raises good cholesterol and lowers bad cholesterol. Just drink the wine slowly. Men can drink 2 small glasses and women can drink 1 small glass daily. Because they are thinner, it is easier for women to be drunk than men.

4. Strawberries - Strawberries contain ellagic acid and polyphenols, which protect against cancer. Strawberries are also high in anti-oxidants, vitamins B and C, and potassium needed for normal heart function.

5. Tomatoes, tomato sauce and ketchup - Tomatoes are rich in anti-oxidants such as lycopene and beta-carotene. Lycopene is one of the most potent anti-oxidants. Many studies have shown that eating tomatoes, tomato sauce or ketchup lowers the risk of heart disease, prostate cancer, and bowel cancer. To get lycopene out of the tomatoes, cook the tomatoes with a little oil. According to experts, we need to eat 10 tablespoons or 150 cc of tomato sauce per week.

6. Red watermelon - According to the US Department of Agriculture, watermelon has benefits in our hearts and roots. Watermelon has been proven to increase arginine levels in our body. Arginine is co-converted to nitric oxide, a chemical that relaxes and brightens our arteries. As such, it can help prevent stroke and heart attack. Red watermelon contains lycopene that slows our age. A little note: The yellow watermelon has lutein that is good for our eyes.

So if you want your heart to be healthy, eat red foods for the heart.
